Version 2.50
The great thing about these expensive, newfangled videogame consoles is that what you take out of the box isn’t what you’ll have forever. The platforms are constantly evolving to make for a better user experience. PlayStation 4 gets one of these bumps tomorrow.
In the version 2.50 update, which is colloquially called “Yukimura,” Sony’s hitting the areas of quick-resume, profiles, and social. The feature in this update that many will get the most use out of is the suspend/resume ability to hop back into games with a press of the PS button.

Another useful function in Yukimura is backing up hard drive data to USB for anything that’s associated with user profiles, such as settings and preferences. Then, of course, there’s a bunch of social media stuff, like how to find Facebook friends and how to share trophies.
