Ikuzo, Majima!
If you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m a hugeYakuzafan. Ever since playingYakuza 3roughly seven years ago, I can’t get enough of the series. I’m eagerly awaitingYakuza 6and having finishedKiwamiroughly a month ago, I still pine to get more. When the rumored remake ofYakuza 2ended up being true, I was elated. As more footage comes pouring in, I honestly don’t know if I’ll be able to hold out for confirmation on a localization.
This new trailer sets up the original plot forYakuza 2while also giving us more information on the bonus Majima Goro scenario that the game will include. While I don’t necessarily think the ending of0left any lingering plot threads around, it’s nice to see a returning character and potentially get a resolution on Majima’s story arc.

There isn’t necessarily much gameplay in here, but we do get a nice look at the upgraded Dragon Engine that powers the game. Ryu Ga Gotoku studio has always put out some impressive looking titles, butYakuza 6andKiwami 2look on a totally different level. This is the kind of polish I’ve yearned to see out of the series.
There are a couple of other gameplay trailers floating around that do give us a deeper look at the changes done toYakuza 2, but our own Cory is going to be present at the Tokyo Game Show. His preview forKiwami 2will be going up later this week, so stay tuned for more coverage. I envy him right now.
