XDefiant, the unusual new shooter from Ubisoft Games, has launched, and many people are trying to access the servers but are running face-first into problems.

Many of them are experiencing issues, the two main ones being that matchmaking is stuck on searching for opponents and falls over completely and just says that it “can’t find a game.” Is this ideal? Not at all. It’s important to remain patient during these times.

XDefiant “can’t find game” error explained

Unfortunately, there simply isn’t much that can be done here, at least not from the consumer end. The problem is with the matchmaking servers on Ubisoft’s side. There is nothing wrong with your install, computer, or internet connection, which is good news. According to the officialXDefiantTwitter account, Ubisoft is very much aware of the issue and is looking into it, so hopefully, they will have a solution in place quickly.

Frankly, it has just become a part of modern gaming that this type of issue will arise when a multiplayer game is launched, especially one that has as many interested eyes on it asXDefiant. There is high hope that the title will offer an enjoyable alternative to the available shooters on the market. It has been a while since a new shooter really broke through in the market for any period of time, and with some of the more prominent franchises falling off a bit over recent releases (Sorry, Call of Duty, andBattlefield, just how I see it) then it looks like the time is ripe for something new to step in.

All this is to say that the servers are currently being hammered, and by now, we should all be aware that these titles cannot just launch with enough servers for peak player counts to jump in instantly. The nature of network infrastructure is that things go wrong at scale that just didn’t go wrong with smaller player counts, and you cannot predict exactly where those failures will be.

So, all we can do is sit around and be patient. Hopefully, Ubisoft will have all of this squared away pretty quickly, and we won’t have to wait too long to dive into the game and start running head-first into those close-quarter battles. I’ll be keeping an eye on theXDefiantTwitterand will keep you updated should they drop any timelines for a fix or further information.
