Team shooter back for another bite

Publisher Focus Home Interactive has announced a Game of the Year edition for its chaotic team-shooterWorld War Z. Not only that, but developer Saber Interactive has also revealed that the team is currently working on a Nintendo Switch port for future release.

The Game of the Year edition will include the base game, along with the huge slew of content that has been delivered over the following months. This includes PvE missions, weapon packs and character skins, Horde mode, weekly challenges, the pulse-pounding “Six Skulls” difficulty, and much more. GOTY customers will also receive access to new DLC content, currently in the works. It should be noted thatWorld War Zhas beenverygenerous in its overall approach to DLC,having pumped outfree contentto the community on aregular basis.

The Nintendo Switch port was announcedin an interview with IGN,where Saber studio CEO Matt Karch spoke of the difficulty in porting the swarms of infected to the Nintendo platform. “Keep in mind that we are rendering scenes with hundreds of enemies and four players online,” noted Karch. “Getting this to run on the Switch is the hardest thing that we have had to do – this is true even though we are porting our own engine [Swarm] over to the platform.”

World War Z: Game of the Year Editionlaunches on PS4, PC, and Xbox One May 5. The Nintendo Switch edition is currently in development for an undisclosed release date.
