eShop games playable by all of ’em!

The wheels of progress keep turning! Not only are Americans now legally allowed to marry bags of marijuana, Nintendo is permitting more than one user to create an identity on the Wii U. Up to 12 users per system, in fact! Modernization rings triumphant!

NeoGAFdid some translatin’ to discover the news. Each account will have its own save data, web browser bookmarks, and play history. More deliciously, any purchases made via the eShop will be usable by any account on the system. I always appreciate having one less petty-minded lockdown to cry foul over.

The Internet browser, eShop, and Miiverse features are all going to be available at launch, but will require a day-one update to obtain. UUUUUPDAAAAAAATES!

This is badass news for the Wii U. Nintendo’s always seemed to struggle getting to grips with modern ideas of user identity and online features, but it looks like the platform holder’s really jumping into it this time around. I’m pretty excited about that.
