For as uncomplicated asSuper Crate Boxwas, it sure could be engrossing if you got into the just-one-more-game mindset. I’m optimistic thatVlambeer‘s latest project,Luftrausers, will have that same quality going for it. Thecore conceptis fun as hell, anyway.

Following the studio’s collaboration with Devolver Digital onSerious Sam: The Random Encounter, the two are once again teaming up for this arcade-style aerial combat game that’s coming to PC and Mac at the end of this year and to consoles in 2013 “with a price point set at $5,000.”

“Release date and price subject to change,” reads the press release. Naturally, Devolver CFO Fork Parker was around to comment: “For every plane that is shot down inLuftrausersI pledge to personally donate a portion of the profits from the game to an exotic dancer of my choosing. Call me old-fashioned but I have soft spot in my heart for ladies willing to take their clothes off for money.”
