Behold! New footage of Nippon Ichi’s indie-like project
NIS America confirmedThe Firefly Diaryfor the West this week, and now we have another look at the PlayStation Vita puzzle platformer in action courtesy of the localization house.
Company president Sohei Niikawalikens the experienceto indie games, given the title was developed by a small team. He also cites the general vibe of the game, saying players might not recognize it as an NIS product if they didn’t know any better.

In addition to eschewing Nippon Ichi’s penchant for making role-playing games, TheFirefly Diaryis somewhat unique for its emphatic use of the Vita’s touch controls. The title puts players in control of a pair of fairies tasked with guiding a young girl through dangerous terrain. The sprites are handled with the system’s touchscreen and rear touch pad.
