Time to dust off that Karategi…
Following on from a recent listing by theGame Ratings Board of Korea, an unannouncedVirtua Fightertitle for PS4 has appeared on the database on the Japanese PSN store. The title was spotted by database hunters and store spoilersPSN Releases.
No detailed information is available at press time, but the listing (which is not publicly viewable) is for a“Virtua Fighter eSports” and features brand new artwork of theVirtua Fighter 5: Final Showdowncast. All of the characters appear stylized in theirVF 5iterations, implying that this will be a re-release of the 2010 PS3 and Xbox 360 fighter. It should also be noted that the Korean listing wasactuallytitledVirtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown.
We will keep you informed as and when more information is forthcoming. I’m very giddy right now. It doesn’t appear to be the long-wishlistedVirtua Fighter 6, of course, but releasing an updated edition ofVF5: FS, readily available on modern platforms, complete with competent online play,anda revived tournament scene, is exciting stuff all the same.
