Oh great, another one.

Today, Amazon-owned videogame streaming service Twitch.tvannounced a convention“dedicated to Twitch’s community of partners, broadcasters, and viewers.” The show will run from September 25-26, 2015 in San Francisco at Moscone West, a satellite venue at the Moscone Convention Center.

Currently, there is no official word as to what TwitchCon will be, aside from the obvious. According to the press release, “Attendees will have the chance to mingle with each other and their favorite broadcasters, experience live content from the convention center, and learn from the community’s thought-leaders.” Mmm, thought-leaders. Haven’t heard that one in a while!

The convention will likely have some kind of show floor similar to PAX, based on the “contact us for exhibitor opportunities” link displayed on TwitchCon’s otherwise bare-bones official site.

Twitch will be partnering withReedPOP, the company that runs all those PAXes in addition to the NYC Comic Con and some other events for huge nerds. With the nuts-and-bolts of the convention seemingly taken care of, TwitchCon will likely rise or fall depending on the guest list and available panels.
