It’s called ‘Pocket Monsters’

Pokémon Sword & Shield‘s new region is called “Galar,” and we’ve seen quite a bit of it so far by way of gameplay trailers these past few months. But when the new season of the anime airs later this year, it’s not going to be the only featured region.

New seasons ofPokémonhave followed the same basic setup for a few decades now: Ash travels to a new region, promoting whatever the new game entry is, and meets new creatures and friends (usually characters from the games). But The Pokémon Company is shifting gears this time around based on new info (and a teaser below) that will see Ash visiting “all regions” from the series. So far, that’s Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, and Alola.

While we don’t know for sure, the text and logo seem to imply that this series will follow the new reboot/re-telling universe set up in the previous few films, further evidenced by the simple title of “Pocket Monsters.” We were supposed to get more info over the weekend, but it seems like this was only ateaserfor more info, which we’ll get on September 29 when the anime is fully revealed.
