I’m looking forward to Square Enix’s upcoming PSP game,The 3rd Birthday, but I have to be honest and say that I was never quite sure what they were doing with the story.
This new story trailer lays it out nicely in the beginning. It’s a long 5 minutes, and it starts out by building a strong story foundation. You get a good feel for where they’re going with this. The rest is gameplay bits cut in with come cutscenes from the PSP game. Ok. We’re getting somewhere.
I felt pretty good about it all through about the halfway point. Then there were more character introductions, talk of time travel, worlds changing, invisible baby sisters, more naked Aya, more silly Square Enix proper nouns — my brain got scrambled again.
Oh well. At least the game play looks solid. Also, this has to be one of the best looking PSP games to date. Confused or not, I’m still looking forward to this when it releases early next year.
