When you’re not buyingquestionable entries in beloved franchises on the cheap, or dealing with12-year-old Early Access releases coming out in full, you might wish to partake in one of Steam’s delightful game sales and events. Take the new Steam Tower Defense Fest as a prime example, live now.

This year’s Steam Tower Defense Fest isn’t a major unknown at all. In fact, as long as you’re evenremotelyfamiliar with the niche of tower defense games, you should have a pretty solid idea of what’s up right off the bat. Basically, you can enjoy substantial discounts on most anything even remotely related to the idea of tower defense titles, and the really neat part is that you get to do so all the while making ample use ofSteam’s all-new demo policy, adding even more functionality to this feature. Big discounts and big demos? Oh, you bet.

Enjoy this year’s Steam Tower Defense Fest with improved demo availability and more

As the short-but-spicy official Steam Tower Defense Fest 2024 trailer plainly shows, this is your chance to load up your account with all manner of strategic, defensible goodness. Titles such asKingdom Rush,Mindustry,Element TD 2, andCreeper Worldare just scratching the surface of what’s on offer here. As per usual, all of the available deals will remain live until August 5, 10 AM PT, so you’ve got ample opportunity to make use of them in the time interim.

Naturally, there’s also the matter of free themed items you’re able to add to your Steam profile if you choose to do so. This type of interaction isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m never going to be one to complain about collectibles. Unless they’re NFTs, that is, in which case –goodness gracious.

Circling back to the topic of demo availability, specifically, there’s now a particularly handy ‘Most Downloaded Demos’ tab under the ‘Browse Games’ section of the event page. To give the new demo features a spin, just scroll down and see what ends up tickling your fancy. Some real highlights includeEmberward,Kingdom Rush: Vengeance, andThe Riftbreaker, as well as the phenomenalCreeper World 4.

I recommendchecking out the full Steam Tower Defense Fest details on Steam, because the odds are good you, too, will find something snazzy to play around with in these hot summer months. Is it going to be a new(ish) version ofCreeper World? Well, it should be, in case my demo recommendation section wasn’t all too clear.
