No can do, boss
Sony hasn’t unveiled the PlayStation 5 yet, but over the weekend, a new round of leaked photos showed the PS5 devkit–a funky-looking machine that won’t resemble the final consumer-grade product–and the (presumed) DualShock 5, which we caught a glimpse ofin a patentlast year.
The DualShock 5 is expected to mostly resemble the DualShock 4, albeit with a few extras likeback paddles. It would’ve been ideal to see the other side of the controller, but we’ll take what we can get.

For eagle-eyed readers, this week’s leak doesn’t show anything particularly new – it’s far from the public’s first look at the PS5 devkit, to the point where the console’s unusual form factor is beginning to seem less and less strange to me – but the circumstances surrounding the leak are interesting.
Here’s the message that accompanied the leaked images:
Instructions or no instructions, you can guess what happened immediately after the post went up.
For added context, it’s worth remembering what the PlayStation 4 devkit looked like.It was a beast.

The toweringXbox Series Xended up catching many of us off guard, and while I suspect Sony will go for a more traditional design with its next-gen console, part of me hopes it’s just alittle bitout-there.
There’s a glimmer of hope among fans that Sony will have more to say about the PlayStation 5 tonight ahead of this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The company’sCES 2020 press conference–which has the tagline “the future is coming”–will be streamed at 5:00pm Pacific.

Sony says it’s “unveiling a unique vision of the future, bringing creativity and technology together like never before, to unleash new sensations and emotions.” I’m keeping my expectations firmly in check.
