It’s Thursday! Have some chiptunes for no reason other than I love you!

Chiptune music houseUbiktuneunleashed two fresh albums this past week. First up is the Valentine’s Day-dedicated7bit date: robot loveby beek. More than a declaration of mechanical passion, it is a love letter to the sounds of old gaming computers like the Amiga and Commodore 64. You can cop the album for however much you wish to pay at the Bandcamp link below.

Second up is the Frank Zappa-ishThe Waveby subPixel. This is a “double-sided” release of 12 tracks — the first “side” is six songs performed with live instruments, while the other side is the same six songs arranged using the NES’ VRC6 chip. Eventually, an iOS app will be released, allowing listeners to mix each song on the fly, going from live to chip and back. This album can be purchased for $3, or for a Lincoln, you can order a friggin’ physical cassette, should you still have the means to play one of those relics!

As always, hit the jump for some music samples, especially ofThe Wave‘s dual nature.
