A board game based on the sequel to a video game
Steamforged Games, the company responsible for theDark Soulsboard game, has announced a new partnership with Capcom to bring a tabletop adventure based onResident Evil 2.
Resident Evil 2: The Board Gamewill be launched viaKickstarterin late Autumn of 2017, although I’m still a little perplexed as to whyResident Evil 2was chosen over the first game. No otherResident Evilboard game exists to my knowledge unless we’re counting thedeck-building game.

“It’s a privilege and an honor to be trusted to bring such an important video game to life as a board game,” said creative director and co-founder of Steamforged Games Mat Hart.
Steamforged broke a few Kickstarter records withDark Souls: The Board Game; among them was the highest-funded board game to ever launch on the platform. So, I doubt they’ll have much of a problem funding this project.

Let’s just hope this game is as good as theResident Evilboard game envisioned by CJ in a recentDestructoid discusses.
It’s been nice to see tabletop gaming having a bit of a resurgence through crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter. Most of the time these projects are a little too rich for my blood, butResident Evil 2is one of my favorite games ever, and I wouldn’t mind playing it around a table with some friends.
