Wondering how to use Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O? As you complete your first few runs in R.E.P.O, you’ll encounter a shop where you may buy upgrades, weapons, and more. If you’re wondering what Energy Crystals are and if they’re worth your time, see the full explainer below.

What are Energy Crystals used for in R.E.P.O?

When equipping a weapon, you’ll see a white bar beneath its icon at the bottom of the screen. This tells you how much charge the item has available. Once all the bars are gone, the item cannot be used again until recharged with an Energy Crystal.

How to use Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O

Luckily, it’s a simple process to use Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O. Simply buy a Crystal from the shop, like any other item or upgrade. Once you return to your ship, you will find a crystal station on the right side. Here, you’re able to pick up weapons and drop them in the little bin to the left of the machine. This will charge the weapon up and it is ready for use again.

Energy Crystals have a limited supply and will break once depleted. You’ll need to buy more, therefore, to keep recharging your weapons. Although it may be tempting to spend all your money on mines and grenades, it’s a far better investment to save up for a powerful weapon and buy Energy Crystals to keep it charged.
