Go home and be a family man
Earlier today, Darren passed along this music video for Torontonian punk band PUP’s song “DVP” as a thing we might be interested in covering, and he made the right call. Always bet on Darren.
The video, directed by Jeremy Schaulin-Rioux, is made up of snippets from real old-school video games (and, uh, one of the Game Boy AdvancePokémontitles) with the song’s lyrics stitched in. The rather amusing end result has Princess Peachsaying she doesn’t give a shit and Kirby acknowledging that he might have a drinking problem. I had my suspicions.
While the concept seems familiar, the execution is strong. I even dig the track!
