Following the recentwave of layoffsat Sony Online Entertainment, it was pointed out that two new MMOs “based on thePlanetSideandEverquestproperties” were safe from suffering the same fate asThe Agency.
WhilePlanetSide Nextis safe from cancellation, PlanetSide Universe spoke with SOE president John Smedley to learn more about the game’s future. Smedley shared: “PlanetSide Nextis getting more resources and will be out a little later in the year but we are pulling out all the stops to make it great.”
So, a renewed focus on the newPlanetSidegame and as a result of all the turmoil the game will be out a bit later, but will probably be all the better for it. Apparently more newswill hit next week, according to the director of Global Community Relations.
