Sword and Sorcery epic debuts at #1 Team Ninja’sNioh 2has gotten off to an excellent start in the U.K., debuting straight in at number one in the high street retail charts, dethroning Nintendo’sPokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DXafter just one week in the top spot. The excellent mystical adventure sequel is one of few bright spots in an otherwise predictable Top Ten. Activision’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfareand Electronic Arts’FIFA 20continue to jockey for the top spots both titles have occupied for months, while mainstays like Take-Two’sGrand Theft Auto Vand Nintendo’sLuigi’s Mansion 3bring up the rear....

It’s not too late to get in on the Kickstarter With a few days left on the Kickstarter forDrift Stage, developer Super Systems Softworks has confirmed that PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita ports will eventually happen for its arcade racer. Expect those to land sometime next year, as Windows/Mac/Linux is still the priority. As for Wii U and Xbox One versions, we’ll see. “If you’re a fan of other non-Sony affiliated game devices, we haven’t ruled them out, but we don’t have anything to say right now....

Mario Kart World’slatest patch notes seem to address a broader issue from the online community, with Nintendo increasing the chances of getting lap-type races in online VS. mode. Last month’s patch reduced the chance of lap-type races when picking random, and was met with revolts from fans online who felt that Nintendo was railroading racers into playing the game as they intended, instead of giving players options to play as they desired....

A lot of people have been asking whether solid-state drives (SSD) are up to par, if they’re worth your money when compared to a traditional hard disk drive (HDD). Some critics will even go as far as saying that an SSD is the most significant hardware upgrade you’re able to make, and to gamers that sort of benefit is obvious. That said, the barrier to entry for SSDs is high and value-minded gamers can buy ten or twenty times the hard drive space by going with the older HDD technology....

Put every Platinum game on Steam Sega has been known in recent years to put a heavy amount of brand stock into Twitter, and they’re doubling down this week with yet anotherVanquishPC port tease. While we already got a Vanquish avatar updateby way of theBayonettaPC release, Sega also tweeted out the phrase “2017,” accompanied by a conspicious emblem. So… Microsoft? This week,Microsoft dropped the bombthat they would be open to cross-platform play with “other consoles” in addition to the PC platform beyond Windows 10. It was a breakthrough for the publisher, who had previously been stubborn in the past about expanding beyond the Xbox and PC limitations. Naturally, the ball is now in their competitor’s court to accept this proposal, and move towards a possible future where PlayStation and Xbox fans can play on the same servers....
