Telsa Effect is old school point & click Tex Murphy

I just noir I remember seeing him somewhere… The year was 2012. Radioactive bees ruled the skies, filling their endocrine sacs with the remaining wisps of human hope, and garlic wolves devoured the remains. Meanwhile, Double Fine put out a wildly successful Kickstarter for Double Fine Adventure as Telltale began pumping out itsThe Walking Dead, which would go on to take year end awards en masse, presumably killing all the bees....

This Doom 2 mod takes inspiration from MachineGame’s Wolfenstein series

You know what? It’s been a hot minute since I spoke aboutDoomor its equally influential follow-up,Doom 2. Both staples in the FPS genre, I’m struggling to come to terms with the thought that one day we may stop talking about these classic games. However, now is not that time, and if you want to experience a veritable smorgasbord of first-person shooting from well-known names, you should definitely check outDoom: Incarnate. This is a mod from user D3athStalker that combinesDoom 2withWolfenstein, allowing you to fill the boots of the latter’s legendary protagonist, BJ Blazkowicz....

This Pikachu-themed pimp outfit is pretty darn incredible

Also known as “Pimpkachu” The facial expression of this man simultaneously dressed as a pimp and Pikachu says it all, until you notice the woman on the left of the photograph. Oh, but just wait — if you go look at the full image, you’ll then see that he’s got a sparkling Poké Ball cane. Classy, original, and even a tad bit subtle, all things considered. I respect the hell out of people who can perfectly capture the essence of a fictional character through hand-made costumes, but this is the kind of creativity I particularly love to see from the cosplay community....

Titanfall on Xbox 360 looks surprisingly acceptable

See for yourself The Xbox 360 version ofTitanfallis out as of today and here’s a better look at how it stacks up to its newer-gen counterpart courtesy of Digital Foundry. The fact that we only recently got tosee much of anythingabout this port handled by Bluepoint Games was worrying — such silence doesn’t tend to mean good things — but I’m impressed by what was achieved on the aging console. I also like that players can choose between having an unlocked frame rate or a locked 30 frames per second that does away with screen tearing....

Try out MediEvil’s surprise demo right now

Return of the Mack Aswas rumored earlier today, Sony has announced a demo for the upcomingMediEvilremake during today’s State of Play stream. Containing the same levels as the PS1’s own demo disc (remember those?), players will be able to tackle “Dan’s Crypt” and “The Graveyard” to get a sample of how Sir Daniel Fortesque’s return to action is. I know I’m looking forward to it and that double dose of nostalgia by recreating the original demo is a nice touch....

Warzone player uses a voice changer to sound like a kid, hilarity ensues

Even his smack talk is surprisingly wholesome I’m not usually one to watch streamers or YouTubers play the games I like, but every once in a while, someone will come along with a gimmick that re-contextualizes my love of various titles. Speedrunners will often grab my attention with their insanely in-depth knowledge of their favorite game, and I was a big fan earlier this year of a Twitch Streamer calledDeanoBeanowho got some amazing snipes inCall of Duty: Warzoneusing arecorder as a controller....

A new use for your Steel Battalion controller

Steel Battalion? One of the best games to ever hit the original Xbox. It’s a game where you control a giant mech using two joysticks, three foot pedals and a 40 button controller that came with every game.Steel Battalionwas great, but the huge price tag prevented a lot of people from experiencing it. The controller doesn’t have any use outside ofSteel Battalion, but Japanese VJ, Bonsajo, modded his intosomething useful. His controller mod allows him to fade, scratch, change color and do all sorts of other things to images appearing on the screen that I don’t really fully understand why butSTEEL BATTALION!...
