Ninja Theory’s Hellblade dev diary teases June 10 reveal

More gameplay coming Ninja Theory has given us a new development diary forHellblade, as well as a teaser for more gameplay on June 10, which is the week before E3. Although it’s obviously edited and not a raw account of what happened, there’s some interesting insight in there in regards to temporary failures and how the team overcame them. I haven’t been impressed with Ninja Theory’s works as of late outside ofDmCto some degree, so it’ll be interesting to see what they can do without Capcom’s assistance, who helped out heavilyin the betterDefinitive Edition....

Nintendo boss says you need a mobile device to chat on Switch because the company ‘does things differently’

‘It’s always there, it’s always with you’ One of the most contentious elements of the Switch is its chat system. Instead of just…chatting with it, something that’s been done with pretty much every modern device, you need to daisy-chain a microphone to your mobile device and run the official Nintendo app. It’s strange, especially given that the Switch has a headphone jack. It’s a feature, not a bug, as the company has maintained, and this week Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aimé is doubling down on it....

3D Zelda for 30 years Before Form Software was acutely aware of the oil vein it’d hit withDemon’s Soulsin early 2009, the studio published Silicon Studio’s (Bravely Default)3D Dot Game Heroesfor the tail end of the year. PUBG’s excellent first-person mode is now available for full squads

A view to die for Never has a video game made me so aware of my own shoulders as when I playPlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundsin first-person. The term “game-changer” gets thrown around a lot in mostly meaningless contexts, but first-person inPUBGis an actual game-changer. Leaving you unable to manipulate the third-person camera alters the entire flow of everything. It’s much more unnerving this way. Up until now, first-person mode has been restricted solely to solo and duo playlists....
