iTunes is currently on an update-free break and the Android market is … well … the Android market, so there aren’t any new freebies to speak of. That doesn’t mean we can’t pick out some classic freebies, though, so check outNinjump. Ninjumpis a fairly simple “runner” game, with the twist being that you’re scurrying up a vertical wall and need to hop between surfaces to avoid enemies. You spin with your sword while in the air, and collect power-ups if you defeat three identical enemy types in a row....

We’re not normally for running news about another game site’s goings-ons, but this one is interesting. There’s one less independent game site out there now thatShacknewshas been snapped up by online games rental outfitGameFly. GameFly intends to keep the same staff and not swat down the site direction as it stands now, which is good news. They now command all the related Shacknews sites, including FileShack. “GameFly has demonstrated a true understanding of and commitment to Shacknews’ gaming culture,” said Shacknews founder Steve Gibson....

Arion Kurtaj, an 18-year-old hacker behind the massiveGTA 6leaklast year, has been given an indefinite hospital order. Kurtaj is a member of the international gang Lapsus$, which was behind various high-profile cybersecurity attacks over the past year. It is estimated that attacks on Uber, Nvidia, and Rockstar have cost the companies up to $10 million. Per theBBC, Kurtaj expressed apparent unwillingness to stop conducting similar attacks. It turns out that by the time he committed theGTA 6hack, Kurtaj was already on bail for hacking Nvidia andBT/EE....

When people think of perfect comic book character movie castings, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is at the forefront. Despite being considerably taller than the Marvel Comics version of the character (and not a Canadian, either!), Jackman excelled at bringing Logan’s ferocity, dry wit, and raw emotion to the big screen. Jackman will again don those adamantium claws for the highly-anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine. At long last, Marvel fans will get to see him and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool team up for all kinds of blood-soaked, fourth-wall-breaking fun....

Gangplank rework and more Riot Games has updatedLeague of Legendsinto patch 5.14, which brings about a number of small fixes and some larger adjustments. The biggest changes are easily theGangplankandMiss Fortunereworks, as well as theUI overhaul. The Baron and Dragon encounters have also been tweaked, and timers are now updated instantly for both sides regardless of vision. Over the next few weeks the Bilgewater: Burning Tides event will roll out, which most notably includes new skins and theButcher’s Bridge ARAM map....

Early 2017 I’m still not sold onMass Effect: Andromeda. Sub-Zero vs. Godzilla just not happening Warner Bros. has announced that its upcoming adaptation of NetherRealm Studios’Mortal Kombathas had its release date pushed back by one week. The martial-arts action-adventure will now launch in theaters and on paid streaming service HBO Max on April 23. As reported by Variety,Warner Bros. has rearranged the date to provide breathing room between MK and kaiju-smasherGodzilla vs. Kong, which hits both big and little screens today....

It just doesn’t sound like it’s happening any time soon either Tekken X Street Fighteris still a thing that’s happening, according to statements issued by Bandai Namco producer Katsuhiro Harada at this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con.
