Strategy series to return to PC this fall As the old saying goes “If you want war, prepare to war with the war,” and warfaring games should certainly start preparing, as publisher Sega and developer Relic Entertainment have announced that the new sequelCompany of Heroes 3will be sounding the order to battle on PC on July 16, 2025. This third mainline entry in theCompany of Heroesseries will offer up four playable factions and two single-player experiences, set against the backdrop of World War battles waged in Italy and North Africa....

Final Fantasy symphony comes to Denmark This year, the very first live orchestrated game music concert by the London Symphony Orchestra took place in the form ofFinal Symphony. The concert is the latest critically acclaimed concert by the Merregnon Studios and the 10th anniversary production, featuring music fromFinal Fantasy VI,VII, andXwith arrangements by Jonne Valtonen, Roger Wanamo, and even Masashi Hamauzu. Now the team is gearing up for more dates in 2014, and will be heading to Denmark for the very first large-scale videogame symphony to be held in the little Scandinavian country....

A report came out today comparing the revenue of handheld gaming devices to that of mobile devices. Done by mobile analytics firmFlurry, the study finds that a great shift has taken place over the past three years. Between 2009 and 2011 (with the last two months of this year being projected based on data from previous years) mobile game sales have gone from 19% to 58%. Nintendo DS game sales have dropped from 70% to 36% while those of the PSP have gone from 11% to 6%....
