Bulletstorm gets a handful of carnage-flavored screens

Some newBulletstormscreens have been made available this morning for our bloodthirsty enjoyment. At least, wethinkthey’re new. It’s so hard to tell, considering every single picture looks like a cavalcade of face-stomping sadism. Who can tell one image of sci-fi torture porn from another? Seriously though,Bulletstormexcites me in my girly parts. The excessive brutality and callous celebration of hyper violence is something that games have been missing for a while. After so many titles that act po-faced and try to be “dark”, it’s refreshing to see that more games are going silly and balls-out lately....

Capcom prez says ‘Moar game movies comin!’

WhileResident Evilisn’t my favorite game-turned-film (that honor goes toSilent Hill), I certainly enjoyed the first film enough to speak positively of it after seeing it. Not being obsessed withResident Evilhowever, I’m sure many details that would have annoyed fans of the series flew over my head. Sadly, the tough chick tactic worked flawlessly on me — I thought Milla was a badass and I wanted more of that. Apparently, I wasn’t alone on that, as theResident Evilfilms did well enough in theaters to make Capcom decide they wanted more opportunities to squeeze money out of their fans....

Dark Souls II disappointed, but I’m so ready for the next game

Project Beast? In the weeks leading up to E3, there have been some truly interesting leaks. Headlining that list is undoubtedly “Project Beast,” rumored to be the working title for the next From Software game. The next (Demon’s?)Souls. The return of series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. Please let this be real. If you’ve seen the believable-looking images, feel free to join me in hoping this game pans out sooner than later — that, should it be legitimate, we don’t have to wait until Tokyo Game Show in September for an announcement....

If you’re trying to score some wins, you might be wondering just who you should keep in mind and avoid. Here’s ourDeadlockcharacter tier list....

E3 08: Hands-on with Rhythm Heaven

Tucked beneath the ruckus regurgitating out of the WiiMusic stands,Rhythm Heaven, the sequel toRhythm Tengoku, sat quietly on its own amidst the other DS games by Nintendo. I had plenty of time to try out all three mini games featured at the show, and after a session of ten or so minutes it had completely won me over with its offbeat style and catchy beats. Hit the jump for some hands-on impressions of the game that, in my opinion, is the best thing Nintendo has to offer this year at E3....

Etrian Odyssey IV will be getting a brand new sound

Composer Yuzo Koshiro’s incredibly memorable themes have been one of my favorite things about theEtrian Odysseyseries over the years. In addition to crafting great melodies, however, Koshiro has always been one to please fans by presenting each of the game’s soundtracks in both their native Nintendo DS and retro FM synthesis formats, the latter of which has always been a real treat. While I’ve always skipped over the NDS version of the soundtrack in favor of the retro FM synthesis one, it looks like that may change withEtrian Odyssey IV....

Exoprimal has exosuits because modern humans can’t handle dinosaurs

An interview with director Takuro Hiraoka WhileResident EvilandStreet Fighterare firmly in the spotlight right now, I’ve also been curious aboutExoprimal, Capcom’s five-on-five team action game in which players go to town on hordes of no-good dinosaurs. The idea is to be better (read: faster) at completing objectives than the opposing squad, to appease a conniving AI named Leviathan. It’s not going to be to everyone’s tastes — and I sympathize with any ride-or-die fan who is exclusively holding out for aDino Crisisrevival (maybe one day…) — but as someone who got intoLost Planetback in the day, I’m intrigued....
