Sure, I guess I’ll play the Godzilla Defense Force mobile game

I’ll play anything if it has Godzilla in it At the end of this month, film audiences around the world will be treated to what is my most anticipated movie of the year:Godzilla: King of the Monsters. As the third film in Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse,King of the Monsterswill introduce at least three more Toho legends to the franchise: Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah. Every trailer for this film has been a pants-tightening experience, and while I know I’m getting my hopes up given I didn’t particularly care for 2014’sGodzilla, I’m too much of a franchise fan to be bothered by the potential that it might actually be a bad movie....

The 3rd Birthday trailer lays the story out for you

I’m looking forward to Square Enix’s upcoming PSP game,The 3rd Birthday, but I have to be honest and say that I was never quite sure what they were doing with the story. This new story trailer lays it out nicely in the beginning. It’s a long 5 minutes, and it starts out by building a strong story foundation. You get a good feel for where they’re going with this. The rest is gameplay bits cut in with come cutscenes from the PSP game....

The Game Awards need to change

A train wreck I desperately wanted to look away from The Game Awardsis the weirdest night in gaming. It’s a bloated three and half hours full of stilted presentations, musical performances that are good but feel out of place, and of course, lots and lots of promo for new games. So much promo, in fact, that it feels more like a big excuse to show us new trailers than it is to honor the devs that worked so tirelessly on the games we loved that year....

The REAL Shepard! Dragon*Con 2012 cosplay, day 4

It’s been a long Labor Day weekend, but Dragon*Con 2012 has finally come to a close. This final batch of photos is the largest one yet, so take your time and enjoy the myriad costumes and celebrity appearances. There’s an official Magikarp music video and it’s terrifying

I love how Pokemon is still relevant 20 years later The Pokemon Company released an official Magikarp music video, and I don’t suggest watching it if you’re prone to nightmares. In this video we see Magikarp carried away by a Pigeotto, presumably to be slaughtered, grabbed by pointy fishing line hooks, and plenty of footage of him floundering in pain on the ground. It reminds me of the seedier parts of the Pokemon anime, like the fact that Farfetch’d being eaten with his leek is a common occurrence, and that Cubone is actually wearing the skull of his dead mother....

This 70-year-old Pokemon Go fan is living his best life

He mastered the multi-phone technique Once I’m well into retirement age, will I still keep up with video games (whatever they might look like by then)? As reported byEBC News, a 70-year-old man in Taiwan has become a real-lifePokémon Gomaster....

UK Charts: Bad Company 2 smacks Heavy Rain into fourth

Heavy Rain‘s heavy reign was short-lived, as David Cage’s Hollywood wank fantasy has been knocked down to number four. Still a good position, but its top billing has been replaced byBattlefield: Bad Company 2. A first person shooter at the top of the charts? Who could have imagined such a thing? Just Danceis still clinging onto the second slot and making me sick, whileAliens vs. Predatoris doing astoundingly well in third....

Voice acting doesn’t necessarily improve 999

Hands-on with The Nonary Games I have been in love with theZero Escapeseries since former Destructoid editor Tony Poncereviewedthe first game in the franchise,Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, seven years ago. He gave it a well deserved 10/10 and after reading that review, I went out and bought it the next day. Oh, how I wish I could have got my hands on that pre-order bonus. Anyway, that game was released on the Nintendo DS and ported in an augmented form to iOS....
