As Nintendo branched out for more third party partnerships they found a friend in Koei, as Omega Force and Team Ninja banded together to create an all-starsMusourendition of the world ofZelda. An offer you can’t refuse The Washington Postis reporting thatMafia IIIhas shipped 4.5 million copies in its first week on sale. This breaks records set by previous 2K games likeBorderlands,BioShock, andNBA 2K. This also makesMafia IIIthe fastest-selling game in 2K’s history, a feat which is mighty impressive considering the lackluster review scores. I’m not sure I understand howMafia IIIis its best-selling title, considering 2K is a subsidiary of Take-Two, which owns Rockstar Games, andGrand Theft Auto Vsold around $800 million worth of stock in a day, but this does represent something positive for game developers; don’t always go the safe route....

PS3 exclusiveMAGwas released just today, and already a patch has been released. The game will automatically update when it’s crammed into your PS3, and it will allegedly fix issues that were discovered earlier this month. Whatever those issues are, they’ll be fixed. Isn’t that nice? The only noticeable problem I discovered while playingMAGfor ourcomplaint-magnet reviewwere a number of graphical glitches such as corpses that did Michael J Fox impersonations. None of them really affected my enjoyment of the game, but if they’re being dealt with, that’ll be fabulous....

This post is half solid, half rumor. The part about the Meat Boy shirts coming to Xbox 360 avatars is definitely legit. This image, spotted onSuper Meat Boy‘s twitter, is the real deal. The second part part of this post is probably equally legit, but due to my super-serious journalistic standards, I’ll have call it a rumor for now. Though I doubt DIY Gamer’s would lie in reporting of aSpelunkysighting inSuper Meat Boy, until I see it myself, I can’t be 100%....
