Idea Factory International has dropped a trailer – along with a release date – for the fun-looking retro-inspired shumpNeptunia Shooter, which stars the heroes and villains of the popularHyperdimension Neptuniaseries.
As you may see from the trailer below, the cutesy title recalls the classic horizontal shmups of the 1980s, as Noire, Compa, Vert and, of course, Nep-Nep herself battle through six stages of recognisable foes, gathering extra party members and power-ups along the way, all backed by a cute 8-bit score.
Okay, I don’t thinkNeptunia Shooteris set to bother anyone’s end-of-year lists, but it does look like a blast, a perfect game for those weird periods of procrastination when you aren’t quite sure what to play. For Neppu fans, it should scratch an itchwhilst you wait on the delayed releaseofSuper Neptunia RPG.
