There are no secrets on the internet, friend

Microsoft has filed two unannounced projects with the FCC.

The filings for model numbers1682and1683– which were spotted by eagle-eyedNeoGAFfer ekim (who alsospotted yesterday’s Katamari news, too, incidentally) – suggest new Xbox hardware may be on its way sooner than we thought.

The FCC regulates any and all data transmission devices sold in the US. While the filer can choose to keep details of the devices private initially, for each filing there’s an availability date – which happens to be June 25 for item 1683, and July 29 for 1682. Which also just-so-happens to be just after E3.

Hmmm.

Some are speculating that one is likely to be a new or refreshed Xbox console given the new filing references ‘User Manual 1525’, and 1525 is the model number approved by the FCC for the Xbox One. Just pick up your (US flavoured) console and you’ll see “FCC ID C3K1525” underneath, which makes us think it’s a new console that has the same manual…

Hmmm x 2. Curiouser and curiouser.

It’s fair to presume that whatever this is will be unveiled atMicrosoft’s E3 2016conference but  even if not, June 25 is not that far away…

What do you think? If itisa new console, is the timing right for you?
