Here’s the bastard taunting me

Our first hands-on session withMiddle-Earth: Shadow of Mordorhad me going up against some orc bodyguards to take out their boss, a war chief. If you recall from my preview, there was one orc that escaped me. His name?Rûg Learned Scribe.

What’s neat aboutShadow of Mordoris that its Nemesis system makes it so that the war chiefs are unique to your game. Knowing this, taking out Rûg once and for all would be that much sweeter.

The bastard delivered this message to me yesterday:“Dear Gravewalker. Let me just congratulate you on your spectacular spree of slaughter. I’m sure there’s many deserving Uruks you’d much rather come after than me. Have a nice day. Yours truly.Rûg Learned Scribe.”

He sounds like a wuss, right? Just when I was about to write him off, WB sent me this video message from Rûg. He’s talkin’ smack!

But I have an advantage he doesn’t expect — his stats. WB also sent along his strengths and weaknesses, all of which were also dynamically generated by the game’s Nemesys system.

It seems like I’ll be able to seek my revenge at E3, and it looks like stealth is the way to go. Stay tuned.
