Regardless of how you feel aboutDestiny 2‘s extreme reliance on FOMO for its seasons, the fact of the matter is that there’s a huge amount of lost content. Thing is, you might still be able to claw some of it back with the Season Pass Wayback Machine extension.

There are some caveats to keep in mind about theDestiny 2Season Pass Wayback Machine browser extension, of course, but it generally works precisely as advertised. You get to take a gander at all the Seasons and Episodes you interacted with in the past (this is important) and can claim select rewards from the screen whenever you wish. SinceDestiny 2doesn’t officially support this functionality, it should be obvious why you’d want to check it out. Here’s what you need to know!

How to claim old Destiny 2 Season Pass rewards with the Wayback Machine extension

Using the Wayback Machine extension to claimDestiny 2Season Pass rewards is as easy as pie. Just head on over to the creator Newo’s GitHub anddownload the latest version of the pluginfor your specific browser first. Note that even though the plugin is available via the Chrome Store, that build may be out-of-date and unsupported by the Bungie API. My advice is to go straight to the GitHub source instead and skip the middleman. At the time of writing, the extension only supports Chromium-based browsers and Firefox (on Android and Windows). No iOS device support is available at this time.

Once you’ve got the Season Pass Wayback Machine extension installed, go toBungie.net’s Seasonal Progress websiteand log in to your account. Then, click on your profile icon in the upper right corner of the site and select the ‘Season Pass Progress’ tab. Scroll down, and a fancy new Wayback Machine UI should load up, showing youallof your previously unclaimed Season Pass rewards.

From that point on, simply clicking on these rewards will add them to your in-game profile. Wayback Machine comes loaded with handy tools that automate the claiming process, going so far as to even optimize how your old Seasonal Engrams are claimed for Power Level purposes. Handy stuff!

Issues with Destiny 2’s Wayback Machine extension

Now, I mentioned a few caveats about theDestiny 2Season Pass Wayback Machine extension. None of this is a problem with Newo’s tool, as they’re just working with what’s possible in Bungie’sDestiny 2API.

Firstly, you can only claim items from Season Passes you had already unlocked at the time. Youcannotgo back to complete old reward tracks in any way, so this is only truly handy if you forgot about something back then. This also means that if you’re interested in earning some exclusive cosmetics unavailable since, you can forget about that.

Further, Wayback Machine only goesback to the Season of the Risen, which came out in February 2022. This means that items from all of the following Season remain permanently lost, even with this handy browser extension installed:

It’s a shame because some of the finest cosmetics were found in those old Seasons. And if you’re a returning player, the odds are good that you’ve got some legacy goodies tucked away from back in the day. Yet, Newo can only take things about as far as Bungie’s official API allows, so what you see in the extension is what you get.
