In every expansion,Final Fantasy XIVadds a bunch of newdungeonsandDawntrailis no different. Past those which are part of the MSQ, there are two more to unlock once you’ve reached level 100 and you’ll need them if you want to play Duty Roulette: Expert.
If you lovedShadowbringersand the mechanics it introduced, you’re going to really enjoy Tender Valley. Contrary to the name, the mobs and bosses in this dungeon hit hard (or maybe that’s just my less-than-satisfactory gear talking), and include some familiar faces, but I won’t spoil the surprise any more than that.
This is one of two postDawntrailMSQ dungeons which are currently available, the other being The Strayborough Deadwalk.
How to unlock Tender Valley for Expert Roulette
The unlock quest for Tender Valley will become available once you’ve completed the level 100 MSQ quest ‘Dawntrail’.
After you’ve done that, head to Bayside Bevy Marketplace in Tuliyollal and find Zeycihan (X:14.6, Y:13.4). Pick up the level 100 blue side quest ‘It Belongs in a Museum’, then you’re going to have to head to Shaaloani, because what better place to take on a whole troop of sentient Cacti with murderous intent?
Speak to Zeycihan again, and then head into Tender Valley to do what his hired group of mercenaries couldn’t – explore the ruins, overcome the enemies you find within and discover the hidden secrets of the ruins.
Like I said, some of the mechanics in here will be joyfully familiar to you, including a direct recreation of the first fight within the Qitana Ravel. Others will be more unfamiliar, but they’re easy to get to grips with as long as you pay close attention to tiny, needle-like details.
