Variety is the spice of life, and the same holds true forBaldur’s Gate 3. While you start off choosing a single class,Baldur’s Gate 3does allow you to multiclass into other roles, learning skills and feats from their pool. And it’s pretty easy to do, too.

The way multiclass works inBaldur’s Gate 3is the same as it is inDungeons & Dragons 5E: at each level, you can choose to put said level into the class of your choice. Some might wait a little bit to do this, to build some strength in a base class and then pivot out to another, or they might multi-class right away. Heck, they mightstartas one class, then swap to a new one and dump the rest of their levels in later. It’s your call!

You can multiclass when you level up inBaldur’s Gate 3

To dive into another class, rather than your current one, simply hit the top-right box when you level up duringBaldur’s Gate 3. You can see it hovered in the screenshot below, at the top-right of the “Level Up” box.

Head through there, and you can opt to spend your level in another class. It’s as simple as that, and you’ll continue having the option to keep putting points into levels as you go.

Baldur’s Gate 3 multiclass

The nice part about multiclass inBaldur’s Gate 3is that it’s pretty malleable. You aren’t restricted on mixing and matching any classes, so you can opt to develop however you like, independent of previous choices.

This does, however, make it seem daunting. My big recommendation for picking multiclass options is to consider whether certain classes might synergize well with others. For example, a Wizard multiclassing into Barbarian might not blend so well. But two Charisma-focused classes, like Bard and Warlock, can play naturally off each other. A few easy recommendations are:

Really, just take time to consider and experiment withBaldur’s Gate 3and its multiclass potential. And keep in mind, you can always change it up later if you don’t like the results. Withers will let you respec your character (for a fee) after he’s joined your camp, so head over to him if you ever feel like you could use a class tune-up.

Also keep in mind, you’re able to only multiclass if you’re on adifficulty above Explorer. So make sure you tick the difficulty up before you level up, if you’re an Explorer who wants some variety.
