Mounts are always a worthwhile investment inFinal Fantasy XIV,whether you need to grind for an achievement or hoard up some currency to purchase them. One of the new mounts added in patch 7.1 is perfectly prehistoric and weirdly adorable.

The Brachiosaurus is a dinosaur that roamed the Earth during the late Jurassic period, roughly 150 million years ago. I’m not entirely sure what that means for the time-setting ofFFXIV, and I don’t really want to think about it too much, but either way, it’s not every day that you get to have your very own dinosaur to mount up on while you go exploring.

How to get the Brachiosaur mount in Final Fantasy XIV

The Brachiosaur mount can be obtained through taking part in The Hunt and earning Sacks of Nuts. You’ll need to do a lot of hunting if you want to get this dinosaur friend because you’ll need 3,200 Sacks of Nuts to purchase it. Once you’ve saved up this hefty sum, head to Tuliyollal and talk to Ryubool Ja (X:13.9, Y:13.4).

Thankfully, Sacks of Nuts can be obtained when felling hunts in any zone fromShadowbringers, Endwalker, and nowDawntrail. This means that you’re not limited to the highest level hunts, and can actually make this fairly easy on yourself by targeting level 80 or 90 Hunt Marks with a level 100 Job.

To make things even easier, it’s a good idea to join a Hunt Train. Although most Hunt Trains these days will be focused onDawntrailMarks, there are still some that take place in lower-level areas, and they’re an excellent way to stock up on a huge supply of Sacks of Nuts very quickly thanks to the large number of players who take part.

The best way to find a Hunt Train is by checking outFaloop!or joining theirDiscord serverto be kept informed about Hunt Trains on your server. Don’t forget you can also visit other Data Centers or Worlds to partake in The Hunt there, so don’t feel like you have to limit yourself to your own Data Center or World.
