Keep up with your friends’ progress

WithDiablo 4having more of a focus on multiplayer content with its vast open world, it should come as no surprised the game has its own Clan system. It’s common for games that allow you to team up with others to have some sort of system to interact with friends in an organized manner.

That being said, how do Clans work inDiablo 4?

Diablo 4 Clan Overview

What is the purpose of Clans inDiablo 4?

As of now the Clan system inDiablo 4is rather simple. In its entirety, the system almost feels unfinished and like more of a tool to easily chat amongst a group of friends as well as keep up with their progress. A lot of multiplayer games have features for Guilds or Clans work together to fight special bosses, work on specific achievements, or even access a special Storage or Stash. But inDiablo 4, no such features are present.

On the main screen of the Clan interface, members are able to see an officer-created Message of the Day, view the Roster, and access a Newsfeed of recently completed individual challenges by fellow members. Being in a Clan also gives you access to a specialized Clan Chat that shows up in green on your chat window. Furthermore, a special voice Clan chat is also accessible.

What are the Clan Settings for Leaders and Officers?

Those in elevated positions are able to change the Message of the Day as well as the Information available to prospective members looking to join. They can also choose up to five of six potential labels to tag the Clan with based on its goals. These labels include: Casual, Hardcore, PvE, PvP, Leveling, and Social. Players looking to join a Clan are able to search based on those labels.

Leaders and Officers are also able to change whether the Clan is available publicly or can only be accessed privately. Also, they have the option to change the permissions of others in the clan — such as the ability to see and write in guild chat, invite other members, and kick other members — as well as ban players from the Clan completely.

Finally, you can change the look up your Clan Heraldry. This is essentially a flag that shows up in the Clan tab. You can change the colors, symbol, trim, and pattern of the flag. There are quite a few options when it comes to creating a custom flag, but there’s not much use for it.

What could be added to Clans in the future?

Even though the system is a bit bare-bones right now, there’s a ton of potential for the future. For starters, it would be cool to have specialized quests or even bosses that are available only to your Clan. There could even be a separate Clan Level that increases by doing these events and playing together with fellow members.

Furthermore, while ambitious, it would be great to have some sort of “Clan Hall”. Any centralized meeting location for fellow members to show off their gear and even trade via a storage system would add a little legitimacy to the feeling of being in a genuine guild.
