Tom Francis, the guy behindGunpoint, has a treat for us today. He’s got a new game out on Steam calledFloating Pointand it’s free,no strings attached. Using your mouse, you swing through randomly generated levels while listening to peaceful jams from Form & Shape.

Reminds me a bit ofPixelJunk Eden, which I adore. In a blog post, Francis explained his reasoning behind not charging money for the game: “WhenGunpointcame out, and did well, Ithanked those who bought itfor putting me in a position where I didn’t have to actively chase money with everything I do. In return, I promised to ‘make new things for you!'”

Floating Pointwas initially created for the Ludum Dare game jam, but he continued to flesh it out, “and worked on it for as long as I felt it needed work. It was a fantastic experience, I’m really proud of the final thing, and I could never have done that if I was struggling to feed myself.”
