Krillbite Studio, the people behindAmong the SleepandMosaic, have announcedtheir next game. It’sFruitbus,and it’s here to fill the massive, truck-sized hole in my heart.
I really need this after the colossal disappointment that wasFood Truck Simulator. I’m still not over that.Fruitbusis generally a similar concept, except all your food is vegan, and you serve it to animals. You get to explore an open world in the eponymous food service vehicle and gather ingredients to feed to all the folks.
The trailer shows off a wide variety of activities, customization, and faces to stuff with food. Listen, this is going to sound really weird, but seeing that you have to pull the parking brake is really exciting to me. It’s the small touches that connect you to a game’s world, and you should never count out the mundane tactile tasks as an effective way to draw you in.
That’s about all the information we have here. I mean, really, they had me at parking brake. I don’t want to get my hopes up too much aboutFruitbus. However, it looks like it ticks a lot of my extremely specific boxes. I was really excited forFood Truck Simulator, but it failed to deliver. Hopefully, what it really needed was some smoothies and the hungry faces of crowds of furries.
Unfortunately, I’ll be waiting until 2024 to playFruitbus. It’s coming to PC and “consoles.”
