In all of the talk over the issues Nintendo has faced over the last two quarters in pushing product for their current devices, very little was said about their upcoming Wii U. A small note was made regarding the console at the tail end ofIwata’s presentationto investors, stating that the company would be demonstrating the “final format” of Wii U at next year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.
Presumably to allay any investor concerns over how the 3DS launch was handled, Iwata made no bones about it. He said the company “learned a bitter lesson with the launch of the Nintendo 3DS,” and assured that the proper measures would be taken to prevent any repeat issues. Ouch.
