Hot weather is persistent in a few different areas of Hyrule. If you visit theGerudo Valley regionin the southwestern corner of the surface map, you’ll be met with a hot and dry desert area. In addition, if you go to the Death Mountain region in the northeastern region where the Goron live, you’ll also deal with the heat from the lava there.

Any of these hot regions will constantly damage Link or even set him on fire, if you aren’t careful and prepare ahead of time. Here are three main ways to keep Link cool and alive in the scorching hot regions of Hyrule inTears of the Kingdom.

Heat-resistant armor

First up is heat-resistant armor that will keep you cool and protected in these hot regions. Oddly enough, there are two main sets of armor you’re able to wear in this game to protect you, and they generally depend on where you are.

There are various food items and elixirs you can make to protect yourself from the heat. These items will cool you down and keep you alive. Here are some of the recipes you can make in the game to stay cool:

Use cold fuse materials

Lastly, there are no traditional ice-themed weapons in this game as there are inBreath of the Wild. However, you can still gain the same effect of carrying around cooling weapons and shields that will keep you alive in these hot areas.

To do this, use the Fuse ability to fuse a cool material, such as the ice fruit, to your shield or weapon. Carry this around and it will also help to stave off the heat.
