The Unwritten Realms update forDDVfeatures the finale chapter of this DLC with an array of fresh additions like new characters, quests, critters, and much more. Here’s a breakdown of all key features.
Two new villagers: Maleficent and Aurora
By far the biggest additions are the arrival of two fresh faces.MaleficentandAurorafromSleeping Beautyare arriving in the valley as characters you may meet and befriend. Like all villagers, they come with an array of quests you can work through to get to know them better, plus some special prizes you earn along the way.
New quests
This update features lots offresh questsfor you to tackle. This includes both main storyline quests and those tied to the new characters, Maleficent and Aurora. You’ll work to officially end the feud between Maleficent and Hades, venture into new locations, including the place stories go when they’re forgotten, and otherwise work to save the Vale.
New items
Maleficent and Aurora bring with them lots ofnew itemsyou can acquire by leveling up your friendship with them. Most of these items haven’t been unveiled yet, but a bonus Dream Style for Aurora was teased, likely a blue variant of her iconic dress.
New Snippets
Some more Snippets you can find and catch using the Royal Net are being added with this update. This includes another Bird Snippet, Frog Snippet, and Demon Snippet, sothree new Snippetsto acquire in total.
New critters
Two new critters, theBlack PegasusandTeal Dragon, arrive in this update. It’s unknown which existing biomes they’ll belong to or if they’ll instead appear around new areas we’ll venture to. Although there are also Owls found around the Vale, it doesn’t seem like we’re getting another variant of this critter, too, so only the previously released variants are available to find.
New puzzles
Fresh puzzles to work through are arriving with this update. This mainly includesnew Lorekeeper talesyou can reorder, but the main storyline will also have some other mysterious ones you need to navigate through, likely ones that are similar to Trials.
Bug fixes
This update also features several importantbug fixesyou may have encountered around the Vale and the main valley. This includes not receiving the level 10 friendship reward fromThe Forgotten, issues with photo mode, NPCs sitting in the air, and several quest-specific issues.
