A $100Team Fortress 2item may seem absurd at first, but when you think about how much money gets pumped into the Mann Co. Store — presumably a scary-high amount, says this guy who’s bought nothing — it’s probably not so bad. Its name, “Something Special For Someone Special,” is rather fitting.

But don’t take it from me. Here’sValve’s pitch: “It’s ring-shaped, it’s gift-wrapped, it’s basically useless, and it’s really expensive ($100!). In short, it’s the most accurate simulation of an actual Valentine’s Day gift ever made available to the public.”

This thing can’t be traded, but it can be gifted. Better yet, once it’s sent, the receiver will be prompted with a proposal. Once accepted (talk about embarrassing if they don’t), both of your names and the name of the ring will be broadcast acrossTeam Fortress 2, and you get a set of wearable diamond bands.

You know, that imageof internal meetings at Valve is becoming increasingly accurate.
