Bravely Default: Flying Fairyis that upcoming Square Enix 3DS RPG that makesDale North wet himselftwice a night. I must admit to being slightly intrigued by the game, but not as much as by the game’s “what the hell were they thinking” title. I mean, “Bravely Default”? The f*ck does that evenmean?
Famitsu magazine recently posted aninterviewwith the game’s scenario writer, Naotaka Hayashi. The original article is in Japanese, but over on NeoGAF, you can find a few key points transcribed for our benefit. One thing that Hayashi clarified was the meaning of the title, which refers to “bravely taking the step towards turning your back on your promises and responsibilities.”

Oh yeah. That totally clears up any confusion. Naturally, Hayashi doesn’t explain the “Flying Fairy” subtitle. Go figure.
