All good things must come to end, and that includes the long line ofThe Witcher 3‘s DLC and expansions. This gravy train stops on the May 31 whenBlood and Wineisreleased.
Talking toEurogamer,The Witcher 3‘s game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz stated developer CD Projekt Red had only committed to the two expansions and 16 free DLC packs, and confirmed thatBlood and Winewould indeed be “the last thing [CD Projekt Red will] deliver and we focus onCyberpunk 2077“.
That said, the team will continue to support the game with bug fixes.
“The first thing is that we attempt to fix as many bugs as we can for the second expansion and the main game,” said Tomaszkiewicz, “and we will release a patch before we release the expansion and maybe one later.”
Tomaszkiewicz added he will “probably” go and help onCyberpunk 2077— which aims to release next year — once development onThe Witcher 3ceases. The team is also committed to another AAA title which we’ll see some time in the next five years.
“Personally, I hope that someday in the future we will do something more because I love the setting and I work onThe Witchergames around 12 years right now,” said Tomaszkiewicz. “But I don’t know what we will decided [sic]. The strategy plan they’ve got they will share with us soon. We’ll see.”
