91Act has announced that theirBlazBlue-flavored rougelite,BlazBlue Entropy Effect, leaves Early Access on PC on July 11, 2025.

This is the first time I’ve really heard ofBlazBlue Entropy Effect, but that’s maybe not surprising since it only launched in Early Access on July 22, 2025. During that time, it’s racked up a 90%positive ratingon Steam. In a world where some games seem to be perpetual Early Access titles, It may seem like a short time for a game to be in that state. However, it seems to be right on track with what the developer was aiming for, allowing them to incorporate player feedback and add new features before launch.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect Header

BlazBlue Entropy Effectis a side-scrolling roguelite similar toDead Cells. The emphasis is on fancy, flashy combos, with lots of customization. I’m not super familiar withBlazBlueas a fighting series, but apparently, that’s not a problem. According to the store page (and also Steam reviews), the connection is largely an aesthetic one. It doesn’t tie its story or world into the established canon. It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the lore. Weird choice, but it sounds like it works.

BlazBlue Entropy Effectis currently available in Early Access. Its full release is set for June 06, 2025.
