Sequel pack-in bonuses add extra flair
Bayonetta 2is almost here, and fromeverything I’ve played, it seems to be a more consistently exuberantgame thanthe original. While the first game frequently toggled between serious face grim-darkness and light-hearted whimsy, the sequel yanks reality off the hinges from the start and dives face first into a magical, fabulous world.
Wii U owners will be able to make that comparison for themselves soon enough, asboth games are being packaged togetherfor release on the console later this year. On top of that, the team from Platinum have added quite a few new Nintendo-specific pieces of flair toBayonetta 1. When dressed as Peach, Bayonetta can summon Bowser’s fists and feet to topple enemies, use the Master Sword as Link (complete withA Link to the Pastsound effects), and flip her visor up and down during cut scenes as Samus.

Like withThe Wonderful 101, Nintendo is taking a pretty big chance on publishing these titles from Platinum. I hope that enough consumers are willing to break from their comfort zones and give these excellent games a chance.
