RememberSkyline? I didn’t think so. Alien invasion movies are easy to forget these days, as it seems like anew one is announced at least once a week. I figure the same thing will happen with the upcoming filmBattle: Los Angeles. Nothing about it looks bad, but in today’s highly competitive film market, nothing about it looks good enough to set it apart from the pack.

Only time will tell though. People didn’t think thatDistrict 9would be anything special either, and they sure were wrong about that. Having a game adaptation might help the film along as well. According to the OFLC (the Australian game ratings board), aBattle: Los Angelesgame is coming to multiple gaming platforms. It looks like the game will be published by Konami and developed by Saber Interactive, the team behindTimeshift.

Could be good, right? Still, I can’t help be feel like this one will be overlooked based on premise alone. Alien invasions are quickly eclipsing zombie infestations as the most overused action/horror premise in moviesandgaming. The public can only take so much of this stuff before they tune out.
