As you progress throughFinal Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail’s main story, you’ll soon find yourself in the strange world of Heritage Found. This dome-encased and gloomy locale is pretty hard to navigate, so it’s understandable that you’d want to take to the air.
However, if you want to do that, you’ll need to unlock all of the Aether Currents in the area. There are 15 in total – 10 field Aether Currents, which can be found using yourAether Compass, four side quests to complete and one unlocked through MSQ progression.

As this isn’t a split map, you can theoretically unlock all 10 of these Aether Currents without doing any of the MSQ at all. They’re all fairly easy to get to, even if you do have to travel pretty far to get from one to the next:

There are four side quests to complete to unlock Aether Currents in Heritage Found. They’re all fairly simple quests to complete, though you’ll need to complete certain MSQ quests before they unlock:

Once you’ve gathered up all the field Aether Currents and complete the necessary side quests, you’ll be able to unlock the final Aether Current and unlock flight by completing the level 99 MSQ quest ‘Unto the Summit’.
