Last week, Destructoidreportedthat the online Western game would take to the popular crowdfunding site to raise additional funds ahead of its release. Publisher 612 Games, however, today announced that the game’s initial investors have stepped in to fund the entire project. The investment announcement means thatWild West Onlinewill bypass an Early Access launch for a single, full release....

Resume quicker A new update is going out to Xbox Series X and S users today that’s adding some quality-of-life upgrades to various aspects of the consoles, including the Quick Resume feature. Jonathan Hildebrant, Director of Program Management at Xbox Experiences, broke down the new update in anXbox blog post. A big part of it is improvements to Quick Resume, which will have faster load times and improved reliability, as well as tags for Quick Resume-capable games and a group that can aggregate all your Quick Resume-saved games into one area....

After releasing last year on PC, developer Misfits Attic hasannouncedthat the title will be making its way to PS Vita and PlayStation Mobile devices this summer....

You would think that, by now, people who work in the games industry would know better than to list unannounced games on their résumés. If I was an employer and I saw that a potential applicant claimed to have worked on something that the public hasn’t been made aware of, I’d think that they can’t keep a secret and that would be the end of it. Tea, Earl Grey, hot… again With the success ofStar Trek: Discoveryon CBS’s All Access, and that nasty business with its showrunner getting ousted for verbal abuse, CBS is full steam ahead with Alex Kurtzman leading the way on building their own corner of the Star Trek universe. So much so that they’ve inked a $25 million deal with Kurtzman to oversee the franchise for the next five years, developing multiple shows over that time....

That’s a bummer One of my favorite experiences at E3 was playingAlien: Isolationon Oculus Rift. The extra layer of immersion that virtual reality could provide did wonders for an already terrifying game. Unfortunately, it seems as if that experience will stay isolated to tech showings and kept from consumers. When asked onTwitterabout the availability of a public demo forIsolation, Creative Assembly replied that it’s merely a prototype and that there’s no consumer product in the works....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3really took the path of least resistance when it came to the bulk of its campaign missions. Operations like Gora Dam take the reins off and give players an open sandbox to play in. While it doesn’t make for super compelling storytelling, it does give players the chance to track down and play with several different weapons. Let’s take all the guesswork out of their locations and let you get to what you do best, somewhat morally justifiable murder....
