High plains shifter It looks like the cowboy-centricWild West Onlinewon’t be coming to Kickstarter after all. Xbox One games can now offer demos that unlock the full version

That’s, uh, only now being supported? I came to really appreciate the way Microsofthandled demoson Xbox 360. Xbox Live Arcade titles were required to offer them, and if you liked what you played in the trial, it was super easy to upgrade to the full thing right then and there. This functionality wasn’t supported on Xbox One at first, but now it is, ID@Xbox head Chris Charla toldEurogamer. “In the same way that we update the Xbox One OS every month, they update the development system every month — or regularly, anyway,” he said....

YouTube Live returns to E3 this year

With a full streaming schedule Last year YouTube hosted its own form of E3 coverage, which basically competed with Twitch and offered a new avenue for streaming press conferences. It looks to return this year yet again, offering up the usual content in addition to a “12 hour stream hosted by Geoff Keighly,” which kicks off at 9AM PT on June 13. In 2015 it actually had a few tidbits of news (like an announcement forWalking Dead: Michonne), so I expect some news to come out of it....

$35 to have your character exist on Vanilla and BC servers [Update: It’s now $15,as per a low key Blizzard forum post.] Blizzard often operates under “Blizzard Time ™” and things will be ready when they’re ready. But that trend has been bucked several times under the Activision banner. [Extremely Rock voice] Finally! WWE has COME BACK to PC

Yeah, I cribbed Steven’s headline Like a brutally booked handicap match,WWE 2K16launched a bit shorthanded this year. It released on the usual platforms of PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, but a PC version was nowhere to be found. Publisher 2K obviously wanted to focus its efforts on the console front. Almost five months later, its music hits and the PC version comes running down the long ramp. It wasannounced todaythatWWE 2K16will launch on Windows PC on June 27, 2025 for $49....

A Virus Named Tom soon to infect PS Vita

And they’re practically giving the PC version away A Virus Named Tomis a quirky and clever action puzzle game about an adorable computer virus designed by a mad scientist seeking to defame the corporation that made millions off his work before unceremoniously firing him. It’s terribly good fun and features an amazing competitive multiplayer mode which feels like the bastard child ofQixandBomberman. After releasing last year on PC, developer Misfits Attic hasannouncedthat the title will be making its way to PS Vita and PlayStation Mobile devices this summer....

Activision artist reveals Guitar Hero 7 and Band Hero 3

You would think that, by now, people who work in the games industry would know better than to list unannounced games on their résumés. If I was an employer and I saw that a potential applicant claimed to have worked on something that the public hasn’t been made aware of, I’d think that they can’t keep a secret and that would be the end of it. Artist Nigel Li must not be all that concerned about it....

Alex Kurtzman is working on four new Star Trek shows for CBS, Picard may return

Tea, Earl Grey, hot… again With the success ofStar Trek: Discoveryon CBS’s All Access, and that nasty business with its showrunner getting ousted for verbal abuse, CBS is full steam ahead with Alex Kurtzman leading the way on building their own corner of the Star Trek universe. So much so that they’ve inked a $25 million deal with Kurtzman to oversee the franchise for the next five years, developing multiple shows over that time....

Alien: Isolation on Oculus Rift won’t see the light of day

That’s a bummer One of my favorite experiences at E3 was playingAlien: Isolationon Oculus Rift. The extra layer of immersion that virtual reality could provide did wonders for an already terrifying game. Unfortunately, it seems as if that experience will stay isolated to tech showings and kept from consumers. When asked onTwitterabout the availability of a public demo forIsolation, Creative Assembly replied that it’s merely a prototype and that there’s no consumer product in the works....

All Gora Dam mission weapon and item locations – MW3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3really took the path of least resistance when it came to the bulk of its campaign missions. Operations like Gora Dam take the reins off and give players an open sandbox to play in. While it doesn’t make for super compelling storytelling, it does give players the chance to track down and play with several different weapons. Let’s take all the guesswork out of their locations and let you get to what you do best, somewhat morally justifiable murder....
