Our own Jonathan Holmes was on the Russian news to talk about Australia’s GTA V

So many cultures! Just last week, Target of Australia announced that it wouldno longer carrycopies ofGrand Theft Auto Vdue to the game’s violent content. No big surprise there; Australia, after all. But, some don’t think that the move was purely altruistic. Our huggable editor-in-chief Jonathan Holmes is one of those. Speaking with RT International (formerly Russia Today), Holmes is of the opinion that pulling the game was nothing more than a PR-savvy action, and that Target had already made plenty of money offGTA Vin the past year....

Psyonix VP is ‘really happy’ about Sony’s cross-play decision, but ‘doesn’t have any updates’ on Rocket League at the moment

The flood gates aren’t fully open yet This morning Sony did the unthinkable. After over a year of denying requests for cross-play between the PS4 and other console competitors like Xbox One and Switch, even going so far as to justify the lack of a feature because “PlayStation is the best place to play,” they kicked off aFortnitebeta, opening up the potential for full cross-platform unity. The key word is “potential,” as the flood gates aren’t completely open yet....

Review in Progress: Trials of Mana

A Pleasant Ordeal I couldn’t tell you right now ifTrials of Mana, the modernized 3D remake of the now-legendary 1995 SNES classicSeiken Densetsu 3, does justice to its 25-year-old forebear. I don’t say that because I have mixed feelings about this game, but because I have basically no history withSeiken Densetsu. Secret of Manawas one of the games that passed me by as I spent my time with other games, likeFinal Fantasy VI(thenIII),Metal Warriors, and the few other SNES carts I could afford on my allowance....

Save me Tom Cruise: Mission Impossible is crossing over with PUBG Mobile

What Maybe you’re one of those people who are completely oblivious to a major motion picture opening likeMission Impossible – Fallout. Odds are you’re not.Fallout, effectively MissionImpossible 6, hit theaters last week and PUBG Corp is capitalizing on its likely long tail with an in-game event. There’s a catch though: it’s just for the completely separate mobile edition. You’re not missing out on too much though, as it only features challenges and small rewards, as well as slight aesthetic alterations like new background music and a modified parachute....

Sonic Frontiers voice actors & cast list

Most of the Sonic VA family is back Playing throughSonic Frontiers, and having just come off another rewatch of the entireSonic Boomseries, it’s been fun to relax with some familiar voices. Seeing the core trio of Sonic, Tails, and Amy return was a treat, even if they’re not quite getting the same quality material as they were inSonic Boom. Roger Craig Smith does indeed return as the voice of Sonic, with more classic Sonic stable actors in the mix (Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, Cindy Robinson as Amy, Mike Pollock as Eggman)....

Sony is running a Totally Digital sale on PS4, PS3, and Vita games

‘Oh, yeah, I remember that game…’ Sony’s Totally Digital sale has returned to thePlayStation Storewith deals on PS4, PS3, and Vita games running a whole two weeks. There’s far too much filler for me to want to list everything, but I’ve assembled a batch of games that stood out to me– some for their quality more than their discount. Here’s what I came up with: The sale spans 400+ games, so this is onlya fraction of the list, but it should give you an idea of what to expect....

STALKER 2: All weapon attachments and the guns they fit on

Whereas there really was only a small handful of gun attachments in the oldSTALKERgames, the selection found inSTALKER 2: Heart of Chornobylis downright impressive. Between noob-tubes, collimators, and silencers, though, many of them only really fit on specific guns, and that’s a big bummer. More specifically, though almost every single type of optic found inSTALKER 2mounts onto the regular old Picatinny-style rail, they’re hardly ever interchangeable. What this means, in effect, is that the fancy 2x scope you’re able to slap onto your Fora-221 won’t go onto the 416....

Media Molecule’s recent releaseDreamsis proving to be a marvelously creative bit of software, allowing users across the globe to conceive, shape and create their own neat characters, stages, scenery and other assets via its powerful tool set. Sword Art Online plays so much better when you can fly

Other than that, it’s par for the course I had mixed thoughts onSword Art Online: Hollow Fragmentlast year, but ultimately I came away happy. Funnily enough, as someone who absolutely hated the second arc of the anime, I actually found the follow-up,Lost Song, to be a little more enjoyable based on my hands-on session at TGS. As it turns out, flying around in the world of ALfheim Online is quite a bit of fun....

That wild new Jeff Minter game Polybius is out today

The stuff of urban legends Polybiusis anotherhectic arcade shooterfrom Jeff Minter, albeit one designed with virtual reality in mind, and I’m not so sure I can handle his brand of trance-inducing madness while I’mstrapped in. It’s playable on a standard PS4 without PlayStation VR, but that seems like a lesser experience. If you think you’re up for it either way, the gamereleased earlier todayon PlayStation Network. Last we had heard,Polybiuswas “nearly done,” and now here it is, ready and waiting....
